Open roles

Work where the
coffee actually moves.

Every roaster, whatever their size, should have the tools to scale their impact in the countries where coffee grows. That is why smoasters exists: green coffee from cooperatives at container freight, gear without stock, reach without listing fees, and financing for the harvest, all from one platform. Every role below changes something for a producer or a roaster; the text says what.

Who you would join

Four products, three warehouses, eight nationalities.

smoasters is run by Social Ecosystems AG from Zurich, with warehouses in Aachen, Heerlen and Spreitenbach and people at origin. We sell green coffee, dropship gear, list coffees on consumer channels and finance lots. Small team, real product, no slide about impact: you see it.

Producers paid on the agreed terms

The FOB price is the first line on every lot and it is paid on the contract, not on the roaster’s cash flow. That rule is older than the platform.

Roasters with more margin, less admin

Gear without stock, green coffee without a container, customer care without a night shift. Every product exists because it takes work off a roastery.

No layer between you and the decision

Eight nationalities, four sites, one Slack. What you decide today is visible tomorrow in a warehouse, a shop or a cupping room.

The roles

What you would own.

Every role below says what it changes for a roaster or a producer, then what you would own and what you bring.

Heerlen, NL · Full time

Warehouse Coordinator

Apply for this role →

You run the daily flow through the Dutch warehouse: intake, releases, carriers, stock accuracy and the team on the floor.

Your impact. Every promise on this website ends in Heerlen: 24-hour dispatch, organic lots kept apart, releases on the day the roaster asked for. When you run the floor well, a cooperative in Uganda gets paid on time because the coffee moved, and a roaster in Cologne roasts on Monday instead of Thursday. You own that.

What you would own

  • Plan intake, pick and pack and the carrier pickups for coffee and gear
  • Keep stock accuracy, FIFO rotation and batch records clean
  • Coordinate with Aachen and Spreitenbach and with the roasters’ release dates
  • Improve the process every week and show the team why

What you bring

  • Warehouse or logistics experience, ideally with a WMS
  • Calm under a full inbound day
  • Dutch or German plus English

Warehouse Worker

Apply for this role →

Goods in, goods out. You pick, pack and ship the orders that leave under a roaster’s name, and you handle green coffee with the care it deserves.

Your impact. A roaster’s customer never sees us. They see a parcel that arrives fast and intact, under the roaster’s name, and a sack of green coffee that arrives dry, separated and counted. That parcel and that sack are your work, and they are the reason a small roastery can compete with the big shops.

What you would own

  • Pick, pack and ship roaster orders within 24 hours
  • Receive stock, count it, book it
  • Move green coffee sacks and keep organic lots separated
  • Keep the floor safe and tidy

What you bring

  • Physical work is fine with you
  • Reliable, exact, friendly
  • Forklift licence is a plus, not a must

Customer Care

Apply for this role →

You are the person behind TIX. Every reply is drafted by the machine with real order data; you decide, correct the tone and approve. You know the roaster’s brand better than they expect.

Your impact. TIX. is the reason a roastery can sell gear without hiring a support team. The machine drafts, you decide, and every reply you approve is a customer who stays with a small roaster instead of switching to Amazon. Your judgement is the product.

What you would own

  • Approve, edit or rewrite AI-drafted replies for roasters’ customers
  • Handle tracking, returns, warranty and RMA cases end to end
  • Escalate what belongs to the roaster, with context
  • Feed recurring problems back into the product

What you bring

  • Written English at native level, German or Dutch a plus
  • You like people and you like being precise
  • Customer service or e-commerce experience

Business Developer

Apply for this role →

You bring roasteries onto the platform: first conversation, first order, first year. You know what a roaster earns on a kettle and what a container of green coffee costs.

Your impact. Every roastery you bring on is a shop that sells more coffee with less admin, and a buyer for a lot that a cooperative listed on GREEN. Growth here is measured in kilos that moved and producers who were paid, not in signatures.

What you would own

  • Build a pipeline of specialty roasters in DACH, Benelux and beyond
  • Run demos, calculate the case, close the plan
  • Onboard the roastery with the success team
  • Report what the market says back to product

What you bring

  • Sales or partnership experience in coffee, e-commerce or logistics
  • You can read a margin calculation and explain it
  • German and English, French a plus

Zurich, CH or Heerlen, NL · Full time

Coffee Equipment Sales

Apply for this role →

You sell the gear: Fellow, Acaia, Hario, Comandante and the rest of the DROP. catalogue, to roasters and to the brands that want in.

Your impact. The catalogue is what pulls search traffic into a roaster’s shop and turns it into coffee customers. Which brands are in it, on what terms, is the difference between a hobby and a revenue line for hundreds of roasteries. You decide what is in it.

What you would own

  • Grow the DROP. range and the brands listed with us
  • Advise roasters which products sell next to their coffee
  • Negotiate terms with manufacturers and distributors
  • Own the bestseller list and the launch calendar

What you bring

  • You know coffee equipment and the people who make it
  • Numbers and product in equal measure
  • English, German or Dutch

Green Coffee Sales

Apply for this role →

You sell green coffee to roasters and buy it from producers. Offer lists, samples, cupping tables, forward contracts and the landed price behind every lot.

Your impact. GREEN. only works if the lots are right: cupped honestly, priced transparently, delivered when promised. You are the link between a washing station that has never sold to Europe and a roaster who has never met them. When it works, both sides earn more than before.

What you would own

  • Build offer lists with FOB, freight, duty and warehouse cost
  • Run sample logistics and cupping with roasters
  • Hold origin relationships and travel there
  • Work with CAPITAL. on forward buying

What you bring

  • Green coffee trading or roasting experience
  • Q-grader or on the way there
  • Comfortable with contracts and with a cupping spoon

What we offer, in every role

  • A role in a small team where your decisions are visible
  • Specialty coffee, gear and a warehouse network to learn on
  • Origin trips, cupping tables and a real product
  • Work across Zurich, Heerlen, Aachen, Spreitenbach and remote
