Coffee is harvested once a year in most origins, twice in Colombia. The lot then needs drying, milling, export paperwork and six to ten weeks at sea before it lands in Antwerp and reaches our warehouse. That is why the best time to buy is rarely the harvest month: it is the window when the new crop is on the water or just landed and the offer list is at its widest.
The calendar
Harvest, best time to buy and off season per origin on the platform. Updated as origins are added.
How to read it
- Harvest: cherries are picked and processed. Samples from the new crop appear towards the end of this window.
- Best time to buy: the new crop is landing or landed, the offer list is widest, forward contracts for the next crop open.
- Off season: what is left is spot coffee in the warehouse, or forward contracts.
Every lot page shows its own harvest window and release month, so the calendar is the overview and the lot page is the truth for that coffee.
